Dean Ingledew Confirms Massive Cuts

27 April 2010, 9:46pm

Dean Inglegew has confirmed that there will be “a 48 reduction in on street presence”

The Operational Director of Street Services has confirmed what many people have suspected for some time now: that the current re-organisation of the City Guardians & City Inspectors services will lead to a massive cut in on street presence. This flies in the face of what we know Westminster residents want.

Dean has confirmed that some activities may be entirely lost!

These may include:

Crime Reduction Activities

Pick-pocketing, Shoplifting, Youth anti-social behaviour

Community Work

Child protection, Work with the elderly, Lost persons, Work with schools

High Visibility Patrolling

It looks like whatever service is left will not be addressing local residents concerns - just WCC's need for savings. See our article "WCC Has Money To Burn As Staff Posts Cut" to learn more about Westminster's financial "management".
