Throughout February there are a wide range of exciting and informative events taking place across the city. By celebrating LGBT History Month we hope to highlight the experiences, positive contributions and achievements of our LGBT communities and support the fight against homophobia.
Here's just a few of the events...
Historical LGBT Walks in Westminster - All ages
17th, 18th and 20th February - Discover hidden histories and fascinating facts on the LGBT History in Westminster.
Soho area - All ages
14th February - Valentines Day - A joint initiative involving Unison, WCC, Broken Rainbow and the Met's LGBT Unit. 2500 rainbow ribbons will be distributed alongside leaflets highlighting support services for victims/survivors of LGBT domestic violence.
Seminar, readings and performances - 18+
26th February 3pm-10pm - University of Westminster, Regent Campus, Regent Street, London W1B 2UW Seminar highlighting the positive contributions and issues faced by LGBT communities. Guest speaker - Bob Green, Chief Executive of Stonewall, followed by readings and other performances.
Film Screening of "It's Elementary" - 18+
27th February 6pm-8pm - 17th Floor, City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London SW1 6QP. A film which tackles the controversial issue of how LGBT issues should be discussed in schools, followed by Q&A session.
