Westminster UNISON's strike committee has been meeting daily and are busy making preparations for a massive strike next Wednesday and Thursday.
If industrial action is to be successful it must be hard-hitting and solid. However, it is not our intention to put vulnerable members of the public at risk. Therefore, the following limited exemptions have been granted which are as follows:
- Employees currently in their last year of service who are members of the LGPS
- Pregnant women who have notified their employer of the expected birth date
- People whose state benefits may be adversely affected
- Registrars - DISPENSATION GRANTED FOR ONLY A MINIMUM WORKFORCE - THOSE REGISTRARS WHO WILL BE REGISTERING BIRTHS, DEATHS AND PRE-BOOKED MARRIAGES. DISPENSATION IS NOT GRANTED FOR ANY OTHER REGISTRARS
- Emergency Response Officers: DISPENSATION GRANTED
